How do electrical code adopted Michigan connections to a Vinyl Siding box J?
I want to use recessed lights in front of the garage attached to the connections you will need to enter the J plastic boxes that kids put up siding, but the boxes are nailed to the plywood sheathing on the garage. I think if they are electrical connections must be enclosed in a fireproof box apporved, and such J box is not a litmus test because the back is open to the deck of the exterior wall. Do I have to cut a hole in the lining of the garage and press after a working table in Table J coating and screw back together, or something else? [On the other hand, how far can the outer jacket of Romex extend to any junction box and the amount of drivers should be coming out of each device connection box in order to pass inspection in the rough?]
You need aj box for connections. The blue plastic boxes are fine old work. Romex can not be used in a humid place. Call your local inspector and ask if they will accept romex in this case. Some do. The UF cable assembly can extend as far as box j as desired. There must be a minimum of 6 inches drivers of supply in the box so you can make connections to the luminaire.
